I never thought of the Giant Cherubim, as they are called. Nice you brought them to memory. A unique lesson from them and the previous ones, the smaller Cherubim. They were attached to the end of the Ark of the Covenant. They looked down on the Mercy Seat, where the blood was splattered. In essence, they represent God. When He look down on us. If we plead the Blood of the Lord, He doesn’t see all our wrong doing, guilt error, and sin. He sees the Blood. Hence, Exodus 12:13, when I see the blood, I will pass over you. Years later the Giant Cherubim look outward, symbolizing the coming future Kingdom age of righteousness, all was made possible at Calvary.
Concerning Ephesians 6:12, It is a military statement, as well as an athletic battle from an ancient Greece standpoint. When the Apostle Paul wrote “we wrestle not against flesh and blood” that is to say, the struggle we face at times as a Christian, it is not a physical problem. Although we feel the physical reaction, but the cause is from the unseen. Not human, (flesh and blood) but wicked spiritual forces. The wrestle spoken of here isn’t what we have today, like the WWE and such. Rather, the opponents fought until one
overcame the other by placing his hand on his opponent’s neck as a sign of defeat, then the eyes were gouged out, resulting in blindness.
This is the state most Christians find themselves, defeated and blind spiritually.
Forsaking the only source wherewith victory is received. At the Cross, this isn’t an elementary doctrine. It is the way of life.
(Colossians 2:14-15)
Now to the military aspect of Ephesians 6:12
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Within the verse above are four ranks.
Principalities represent the beings who are rulers of the highest rank in Satan’s kingdom, these are powerful fallen angels.
Powers represent the rank below Principalities. The Greek word is “exousias” meaning authorities, as in receiving power to execute the will of a leader.
Rulers of the darkness of this world, are ranks beneath Powers and Principalities.
Spiritual wickedness in high places, these are the lowest, but are not the least active. For they are demon spirits. Unlike God who is everywhere at once, Satan cannot be, therefore they act as his minions. The “high places” spoken of here does not refer to Heaven, but rather the lower atmosphere surrounding the earth. Further insight to this is seen in the passages of Ephesians 2:2… The ruler of the authority of the air, spirits and spirit who now controls the people who disobey God.
Yes, they are, considering the records, like the account of Sennacherib, king of Assyria. Within one night 185,000 Assyrians mainly his fighting men, were all killed by one angel.
As to their physical representation, they are likely bigger than a human in size and height. Goliath for an example, was half angel and half man.
Also, the vision of Ezekiel, the wheel of the heavenly creatures he described. The circumferences of the wheels, he said "they were so high that they were dreadful"
Another account is found in Luke 24:2 - The stone that was placed in front of the tomb where Christ was laid. The stone weighed several hundred pounds, obviously. However, one angel came and rolled it away. (Matthew 28:2)
This is a subject worthy of a book of its own, of which there are many out there. Nevertheless, it is better to stay away from most of those written materials dealing with angels.
As humans, our fascination of a subject that is beyond our grasp, it is usually elevated to a supreme platform. In the case of angels, let us not forget they are created beings.
We do not worship them or pray to them. The misunderstanding of this, will usually result in the entering into a supernatural-occult realm, wherewith, individual invite spirits into their lives and homes. Assuming they are in a close relationship with God, but are entertaining evil spirits.
For Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. (2 Corinthians 11:14)
With that being said, Biblical Angelology - The study of angels from a Bible perspective isn't wrong. There is a blog post dealing with the subject you can follow here. Or an outline of Angelology below.
They are created beings with individuality who exist in the spiritual dimension, but angels are not limited to the physical universe.

Rest assure, when you as a believer says, Jesus, save me! Before those words leave the lips. An angel has already come, and done its work by the command of the Lord.
This verse is realized here in this conversation..
Matthew 10:32
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven.

More insightful than I thought. So it is fair to say angels are superior in atributes like strength and physical abalities.

Amen indeed
