Also by faith Sarah herself received power for conceiving seed even beyond the time of age, and gave birth; since she deemed the One having promised to be faithful.

Hebrews 11:11

The continuation of time, and the stages of faith wherein it is established.

Within time, we perceive the past of that which was the beginning, and we experience the present, which is now, and we perceive the future that which is to come. In such manner, in the continuation of time, faith distinguishes time in three stages, the past, the present and the future.

• Time of the past in relation to faith

In the life of the Christian believer, the perception of time of the past is orthodoxly accepted by faith. Therein, we received the Salvation of God, by knowing and gratefully accepting those things that Christ did on our behalf that we might be saved. We accept, and we are saved. We also accept who God is, and His dealing with the great men and women of the past. Furthermore, where there is a promise of God, we accept, and by faith we believe.

• Time of the future in relation to faith

The means of the perception of the future and its expectation is predicated on the faith of the past, and the faith we exercise in the present. Without which the future we perceive in time will become obscure, and the livability of the present becomes unbearable, and ultimately, hopelessness for the future.

• Time of the present in relation to faith

May the faith of the past, in which we received the Salvation of God through Jesus Christ be a reminder in the present that God is willing, and God is able. If there be any promises of the past wherewith we gladly accepted, let us remember in the present that He who gives the promise is faithful to fulfill that which He has promised.

Like Sarah, having received the promise that she will conceive a child, she accepted. However, at times, through the progression of time that which we once believed becomes obscured, but by faith Sarah herself received power for conceiving seed, even beyond the time of age, and gave birth; since she deemed the One (The Lord) having promised to be faithful.

Observed the phrase, “Sarah herself received power for conceiving seed.” To those who receive power, they must first be weak that they might be made strong through the divine imputation of the power.

Therefore, let not our weakness to perceive the will of God in the present be a reason not to believe, but faith will be the wings of hope in the sea of hopelessness to sail from doubt to assurance.

Seeing is not always believing, but knowing by faith is the path to perceive that which we will ultimately receive.

May we hold fast the unwavering profession of the hope, (for faithful is He who did promise).
