Although a handkerchief is used in the account of healing the sick, however, this was an exceptional account, and only unique to the individual, in whom the special miracle was wrought through, by God. Neither was it the perspiration of the Apostle Paul which brought forth healing and deliverance through the handkerchief. This incident has been grossly misinterpreted and enacted by false prophets and teachers, alike, by sending out a handkerchief soaked in body fluids, or other clothes as a source of healing.
This is not the case observed here in the account of Acts 19:11-12. The healing wasn’t in his body perspiration. This was an Extraordinary event, the phrase used to describe this miracle is, dunameis ou tas tuchousas. The idea here is, it was so extraordinary like none other, even so, it was unknown to the other apostles, but unique to Paul.
With the exception of Christ, there have been very few humans to ever experience such feats with the body and mind, one was Moses. The physical lights shown through his skin, having been in the presence of God cause him to cover his face in public.
The same was seen with Christ in the healing of the woman with the issue of blood. Remember her words, If I can just touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed, and she was healed. The power within Him, flowed out through Him.
Unlike, certain so-called healers and miracle workers of today who places focus for a deception on the external, such as body perspiration, or cologne transmitted to a handkerchief as a means of healing.
Observe the words of Christ after the lady reach out to Him and touch Him and she was healed.
Jesus said, Someone did touch me, for I knew power having gone forth from me. Luke 8:46
Notice, the power went from Him through the cloth, the fiber only acted as a conduit, instead of today’s presumption to store up fluid in a handkerchief for a healing.
Lastly, the true preaching of the Gospel should always be placed ahead of healing. For where the Gospel is preached, people will be set free, and the healing of their mind and body will follow, instead of being healed, but captive to bondage.
I believe it as it is presented in the Scriptures but my skepticism was how it is presented nowadays on tv. But great points you made. Amen
