Exposition on the book of Ephesians

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

Ephesians 4:1

  • Understand your calling, and paths will emerge for you to heed and pursue it. Act in a manner that honors your vocation. Remember, it wasn’t by your will power that you entered this calling; you were summoned to serve the Lord.

  • In fulfilling this role, proceed with modesty and without arrogance. Maintain faith even in matters beyond your current understanding, trusting that comprehension will come in time.

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love.

Ephesians 4:2

  • During the salvation process wherewith you became born again, you let go of your will and your past ways for a better way as you became a new creation in Christ. Though we are a world where time is at times as an eroder, but we are called to the renewing of mind daily. Romans 12:2. Seeing things differently as you learn to see their true nature. And seeing your fellow believers beyond their perceive shortcomings, for you too are being changed daily. Being patience with one another. That meekness may abide. For where meekness is presence, your pride and sensitivity must not control your actions. For where your sensitivity is lifted, it is about you and not others. Therefore, strive toward unity.

Ephesians 4:3 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

Refraining from things that will lead to division. We are one in the body of Christ, but your actions will effect everyone, or your lack thereof. That is to say, Avoid actions that cause discord. In the body of Christ, we are united; thus, our deeds impact not only ourselves but all.

We will continue this series in the book of Ephesians.

God bless you.
