  • Flesh

Flesh Some words are repeatedly heard in the congregation, though the expression is well known, but its implication remains intangible. FLESH T he flesh is personal abilities. The personal ability is the will of the individual. This in itself does not bear wrong doing. Nevertheless, a believer is called to believe in Christ. Hence, a believer who no longer believes in Christ, knowingly or unknowingly in essence has resorted to unbelief by trusting in his or her abilities which is the flesh rather than trusting in God's will. We cannot live without a will, but our will must be made conformable to God's will (Galatians 2:20). As Christ was crucified, but yet Resurrected. So shall be the will or the abilities of the believer, the flesh must be crucified that we may be risen in newness of life. By trusting in God's will, He becomes our Provider and our Shield. If God is for us, who or what shall be against us? ___________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© (Galatians 2:20) I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. • Prayer for Workplace protection | Awalkingnewman.com

Miscellaneous Writings Workplace protection a prayer for the office and more P. S. Wilmot Share A Psalm of David Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for mine help. Draw out also the spear, and stop the way against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation. Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt. Let them be as chaff before the wind: and let the angel of the LORD chase them. (Psalms 35:1-5) In Jesus name I pray Amen. ___ Exposition of the prayer One of the innumerable uniqueness and the beauty of the Word of God is, it is alive and well. For the circumstances of the past, the future and the present, it is the answer and the solution, for the weary soul, for the fear that immobilize. It shall be the light in life’s darkness of uncertainty, to those who plead to the Lord. Like David of old, in times of contend, strive, quarrel, may the words of our mouth be our supplication to the Lord. When the anxiety of the heart causes weakness to the body, this we know, we cannot manage the situation in our own ability, but in humbleness, let the weary draws to the Lord. If the cause of the unknown is raised against us, or the oppression of a tribunal, or summit before a judge, through false accusation. Or the wrongdoing of our will, in meekness, God is the advocate to the humble. Therefore, whatever the situation is, may the awareness of the heart acknowledges, the plead of David. The Lord our God, intervened and stood up for David. So then, this we know by faith, the Lord will do it again. He will undertake our cause against those who had risen up against us. Plead my cause, O LORD, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me. Like the lyrics of Dawn: . . . now it seems that there's no way out And you're going under God's proven time and time again He'll take care of you CHORUS And He'll do it again He'll do it again If you'll just take a look At where you are now And where you've been Well, hasn't He always come through for you He's the same now as then You may not know how You may not know when But He'll do it again Prayers awalkingnewman.com Writings

Psalms 91:14 14. Know the name (authority ) of God. 15. Call upon God in prayer. Psalms 91:15 Key words and phrases to understand Dwelleth – Psalms 91:1 He that dwelleth . . . The idea here is to sit down, as a judge would sit, but sit for a reason, to observe. The believer is not sitting in any place, but the secret place of the most High, this secret place represents the heart of God, His bosom. It is one thing to know a person from a glance, but it is an advantage to understand the heart’s desire of the person, in knowing what is special to them. In so doing, as believers, when we dwelleth, we sit down, let us sit to causatively settle, meaning our sitting is to produce an effect. The desire to understand the heart of God, or that which is dear to Him, and this we know, Christ is the only begotten of the Father. Our relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, will determine how we dwell in the presence of God. In the Words of Christ, no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me. Habitation (Psalms 91:9) - an abode, a place of asylum, a home. The phrase, home is where the heart is, goes a long way. No matter how far we travel, or what good of a place we’ve been. Nevertheless, there is always a desire to return home. Consequently, it is our duty to be at home, but at home in God. If there is a rejection of being at home, then it is the evidence of turmoil at home. If God is our habitation, like a good home, there we’ll desire to be. Therein, we talk with Him, and we are delighted to be with Him. When the outside world, has but all disorder and Chaos to throw at us during the day, we quietly, but eagerly look forward to be at home. So is the Christian’s habitation in God. In Him we shall be welcome, as a man or woman is welcome to their home, without any disturbance of the outside, there we find rest and peace in the Lord. In so doing, our habitation becomes our refuge. Refuge – Hope and the shelter of trust. There shall no evil befall thee – Psalms 91:10 The phrase is better translated, though trouble or affliction will come to you, yet there will be no real evil in it toward you. For whatsoever happens to you, God Almighty is aware, and He shall turn the bad into good, for a lesson of a testimony that you may keep trusting in Him. Like an athlete who exercise to build muscles, the ordeal is demanding at times with stress to the body, but not for the destruction of the athlete, rather the betterment of his or her well-being, to be the best. So, the trouble at times, is not for our destruction, but the betterment of our being. The apostle Peter once wrote, saying we are a peculiar people. The word peculiar, in its definition today is to be strange, odd or weird. However, in its meaning of intend when it was written, it gives the reader a picture of a circle. There in the circle is a dot, the dot represents the believer, and the circle is God. If anything reaches the dot within the circle, it must first go through the circle which is God. So then, if anything befalls us, it must first go through the love of God toward us. Though it be uncomfortable for a while in the beginning, but in the end, it will be a blessing and of no harm. If a pregnant woman who is only a human, but at all cost will protect her belly from anything that will be a harm to the baby therein. What more about God who is Almighty? He shall not allow any evil to befall you. If we make the LORD, which is our refuge, even the most High, His habitation; our dwelling. For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. For our decision to serve the Lord, we shall be the head and not the tail. Through fellowship, when we call on the Lord, He will listen and answer; Lord, help me hear and understand when you speak. In safety shall we dwell in the house of the Lord. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© Prayers awalkingnewman.com Writings

  • The Meaning Behind the 13 Folds of the American Flag | awalkingnewman

BACK Thirteen Folds Patriotic Literature Amidst the rolling green expanse of the National Mall, families gather—a living testament to the enduring ties that bind generations, anchored in a love that transcends race and outward appearances. This love, intertwined with life, family, and patriotic allegiance, is enveloped in faith. For those who sacrificed their lives, their shared blood was a vibrant red, a testament to their passion to defend their country and their willing hearts. They now find tranquility and solace in the celestial rest of white, while we, the living, dwell under the divine canopy of heavenly blue. Like the flag with its multitude of stars, let us cling to life and proliferate, so we may partake in and reap the joy it offers. As Christ once proclaimed in John 15:13 , “Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends.” Through the sacrifice of the fallen, we honor them in our memories, keeping their heroic deeds alive through our actions, our way of life, and the continuity of generations. For those who gave their lives, let us live. For there are those who are now willing to give theirs, like a father for his family and the mother who stands by him in all he does. The veteran sailor can walk his snow-white dog across the grassy field, beneath the towering silhouette of the Washington Monument, a tribute to General George Washington. In this world, the soldiers - Coast Guard and Army can traverse the same green field in their twilight years, free from the haunting specter of war. They uphold the tradition of all, as their descendants partake in the Memorial Day observance for the fallen. On this day, we remember not only the military personnel who have given their lives, but also the enduring spirit of the nation and the resilience of the families that constitute it. The Air Force father, once soaring the skies, can sit in the comforting embrace of his Marine wife, together savoring the freedom, as their elected leader soars above in his steel wings, and above all, the Lord God reigns in the heavens. As they nurture their young, they prepare for a future where the cosmos will be his domain. In the fluttering of the flag, we stand tall, and in its 13 folds, we acknowledge: 1. The sanctity of Life 2. The promise of Eternal Life 3. The dedication of Veterans 4. Our Weaker Nature 5. Our love for Country 6. The strength of the Heart 7. The valor of the Armed Forces 8. Our Tribute to the Departed 9. The grace of Womanhood 10. The responsibility of Fatherhood 11. The contributions of Hebrew Citizens 12. The faith of Christian Citizens 13. The Nation’s Honor Echoing Stephen Decatur’s words, “Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right, but it is still our country, right or wrong.” The ceremonial folding of the American flag is a revered tradition in the U.S. military, steeped in symbolism and respect. Each of the thirteen folds carries a unique significance, representing distinct values and principles. Let’s delve into the profound meanings embodied in each fold: Life : The first fold is a symbol of life. Eternal Life : The second fold signifies belief in eternal life. Veterans : The third fold is made in honor and remembrance of veterans departing the ranks who gave a portion of their lives for the defense of the country to attain peace throughout the world. Weaker Nature : The fourth fold represents the weaker nature of citizens, trusting in God for divine guidance. Country : The fifth fold is a tribute to the country, echoing Stephen Decatur’s words, “Our country, in dealing with other countries, may she always be right, but it is still our country, right or wrong.” Heart : The sixth fold is where the heart lies, in allegiance to the flag and the republic it stands for. Armed Forces : The seventh fold is a tribute to the armed forces, protecting the country and the flag against all enemies. Tribute to the Departed : The eighth fold is a tribute to those who entered the valley of the shadow of death, that we might see the light of day, and to honor mothers. Womanhood : The ninth fold is a tribute to womanhood, for their faith, love, loyalty, and devotion that has molded the nation’s character. Fatherhood : The tenth fold is a tribute to fathers who have given their children for the defense of the country. Hebrew Citizens : The eleventh fold, in the eyes of Hebrew citizens, represents the lower portion of the seal of King David and King Solomon and glorifies the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. Christian Citizens : The twelfth fold, in the eyes of Christian citizens, represents an emblem of eternity and glorifies, in their eyes, God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. Nation’s Honor : The thirteenth and final fold, when the flag is completely folded, the stars are uppermost, reminding us of the nation’s motto, “In God We Trust.” ______________ ______________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© For Group discussions, check the group pages Or the art gallery for more artworks. • Calmness for a change | Awalkingnewman.com

Calmness for a change Miscellaneous Writings Calmness for uncomfortableness, for a change. The awareness of that which is an inconvenience to us, will serve two outcomes. To the burden of difficulties without hope, the reason for a change is absent, but when we are aware of the inconvenience of life, or the situation wherewith, we find ourselves, may it be a reminder that we were once without the problem. Therefore, we can once again be free of the problem. In calmness, hope is established, therein, the mind is free to reason for a change. If we walk into a dark room, the first reaction is to desire the light for a change to the present situation. With a clear mind, we reach out calmly by seeking the switch for the light. On the contrary, if the darkness stirs up agitation, like it does in a child who is afraid of the dark, though the switch for the light is present, but with the absent of calmness, the child cannot perceive the possibility to turn on the light for a change. In dark times, may we stay calm that the mind will clearly reason that there is a way for a change, and there is a light. May the calmness in us be a hope that Christ our Light is there. Though we do not see through the dark, but thus it is written; Fear not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will show to you today. In the sea of life, hope is the compass that wings above the storm of life. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© #Calmness MORE Share

Amerihollow Little Tommy and Jack his father the story teller, walk through the Badlands in hurry to their outskirt settlement as the sun set in the northwest. The shadows of the boy and the men grew behind them as the curiosity rise within Little Tommy. He firmly held to his father’s hand. Why is it the Badlands the boy asks his father, does not good prevail, bad, is there hope for the Badlands to ever be a good land again? Jack was one of the many who dwell on the outskirt of the Badlands, by shuffling through the waste of what was once a land of hope, they piece together scraps for a hope for another day. Though the land stood in silence, but the past of its greatness could be heard in its failed structures. The roads that once brought together civilization and people now serve as the display of man’s failed idea, partly covered in the course of nature. At least the failures of the past and nature did come together, displaying man's broken ingenuity. Cover in green grass and vegetation with the rise of the earth from beneath the feet, soiling the concrete that once lay below the fast-moving feet of the inspired people of the land. Indeed, fast were they and their desire for a change and impatient for a result to a change. As little Tommy continues to tug on his father’s hand, Jack snaps out of his thoughts. Gently pulling the boy by his side, he replied; son, when equality is no longer served by justice, moral lose its course among the people. Without fairness, unreasonable ordeals lead to the demise of a land. Looking up at his father, little Tommy curiously asks again, what does this means? With a gaze in his eyes and love for his son. Jack firmly held to the child’s hand. Son, when people dispute because of their indifference, without addressing the reason for the many indifference, they engage in a battle without an objective. They struggle to overpower one another. This was Jack way of saying to the boy, we have lost it all. Amerihollow One might conceive defeat based on life’s condition due to a certain situation. Nevertheless, the moral fiber of life will serve as a perseverance and a compass to that which is right. Regardless of life’s position. Doing that which is right will exalt all people, but the compromise of good for evil is a reproach to all people. Jack and Tommy shuffled through the badlands, scavenging whatsoever they see fit to take home, but the lack of findings on this day open an opportunity for discussions between the boy and the man. Questions and answers, learning and reflecting. Due to the lack of finds on this trip, Jack decided to take a path, a path the dwellers of the outskirt forbid to tread thereon. As his hesitation causes his steps to gradually slow, he found himself trailing his son’s steps. As curiosity grew within the child, Tommy pulls onto his father’s hand, looking ahead, he took the lead in the walk. In the distance was something massive from the boy’s perspective. Little Is Much When God Is In It 00:00 / 04:17 There’s a crown, and you can win it, if you go in Jesus’ name In the harvest field now ripened There's a work for all to do; Hark! the Master's voice is calling, To the harvest calling you. Little is much when God is in it! Labor not for wealth or fame; There's a crown, and you can win it, If you go in Jesus' name. Does the place you're called to labor Seem so small and little known? It is great if God is in it, And He won’t forget His own. One day when the conflict here is ended And our race on earth is run, He will say, to the faithful, "Welcome home, My child—well done!" Little is much when God is in it! Labor not for wealth or fame; There's a crown, and you can win it, If you go in Jesus' name. Let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9 MORE Kittie L. Suffield #songs
