  • The Threefold Nature of Man | Awalkingnewman.com

Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. The greatness of the Word of God is its integrity, by which it is without error nor deception. If contradictions arise, it is the reader’s lack of perception. So then, let it be an opportunity to gain a better insight. The passages below are some of that which we avert, for the lack of understanding, but with a willing mind, they shall be made known. The Threefold Nature of Man One cannot fully explain or comprehend the relation of the body, soul and spirit without acknowledging God as the key to the comprehension of the subject. Man is a Threefold being , meaning three parts working as one, the body , the soul , and the spirit . The outer of man is the body of man. The middle of man is the soul ; the inner of man is the spirit . (1 Thessalonians 5:23) The body (or the flesh) is the physical outer shell that houses the soul and the spirit. The soul is the existence of who we are. The expression of who we are, through our character. The spirit of man is the intellect, the immortal part of the individual. The soul and the spirit are closely related, however, there is a difference. Dealing with the soul, it is the personal existence of the individual. The soul in relation to the body or (flesh ) The soul, the existence of who we are. It expressed who we are, through our character. The expression of who we are is seen through the soul. This expression of the soul is predicated upon its communion with the spirit , or with the body . Therefore, we walk in the Spirit; meaning, we let the Spirit direct our lives, or we walk after the flesh. Desiring the lust of the human nature. Through communicating with the body, the soul explores the act of self-expression, of who we are. With the eyes , seeing is enacted, causing imagination to the soul. With the nose , we smell, bringing conscience to the soul. With the ears , we hear, producing memory to the soul. With the mouth , we taste, causing the soul to reason. With the hands , or touches, the soul translates affections. These things in themselves are not amiss, but to what cause are they enacted? The soul that desires only the things of the flesh, is carnal. That which is carnal, may be pleasing for a while, but it is temporary. It shall waste away, and so shall the individual whom the soul depends on the attributes of the flesh. The soul in relation to the Spirit On the contrary, the spirit of man is the intellect, and the immortal part of the individual. The intellectual discernment of the spirit does not depend on the physical. This part of man was created by God, as an abode for His presence to dwell with man, for a fellowship and discerning right from wrong. Although the spirit receives impressions of the outward through the body and soul. However, unlike the soul wherewith its senses are the five senses; seeing, smelling, hearing, tasting and feeling. The senses of the spirit are faith, hope, reverence, prayer and worship. Therefore, if the soul of an individual commune with his spirit, the individual discernment is far beyond the physical or the natural. This is what Paul the Apostle refers to as, walking by faith and not by sight. Wherewith, faith becomes the eyes of the soul. Though we see with the natural eyes, but we are not controlled by what we see. Therefore, the individual mood is not altered by sight, or by hearing, neither through the physical interaction with the natural. The benefits of such are innumerable. Where there was once fear, there is assurance. Where anger once control the mood, there is now peace. The soul that once was depressed, shall be grateful. Hatred is replaced with affection. These and more are vital to the existence of who we are, neither are they brought about through a magical enhancement. Until the Spirit of God can dwell with the spirit of man in unity, within man, his spirit abides in darkness. The works of his heart are evil. The results thereof are pride, selfishness, corruption, prevarication, hatred, quarrelsome, greed and Lover of self. The replacement of these things and more, is done through the rejuvenation of the spirit within man. Wherewith, the Spirit of God comes in and dwell with the spirit of man. Where there was once darkness, there shall be light and illumination. However, there arises a problem, the darkened spirit chamber of the natural man, has his “Will ” as a guard at the entry to his spirit, to prevent the entering of the Spirit of God. Case in point, we see the perishing of society around us, however, they rather self-destroy than the acceptance of God in the equation. Young people are disobedient to their parents, but family rather accepts a dysfunctional family by partaking in counseling than teaching their young ones Exodus 20:12 - Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long . Self ambition without God, but when premature failure arrives, God is blamed. Not until the “Will” of man surrenders to the Spirit of God; illustratively speaking, surrendering is accomplished through the “Sword of the Spirit” wherewith, the “Will” of man is crucified. This is done by the “Word of God” through the acceptance of the Word of God. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 KJV) When the “Will ” surrenders, then the Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit can enter and abide with the spirit of man. Now, the individual no longer solely depends on the natural through his flesh, but he can rely on the direction of the Spirit of God. This is the process in which the believer is set apart to be worked on, to make whole (restore) . Theologically speaking, this is sanctification , the believer isn’t perfect, but is being made perfect. There will be times, when the soul of man will resort to the flesh through failure, but his spirit no longer dwells in darkness. Therefore, the Spirit of God in him shall be a guide and a protector to correct, and lead his soul in the guidance of the Holy Spirit along with his spirit. Through FAITH – though we do not see, but we believe. We HOPE – the blessed assurance of God. Our PRAYER - Our communication with God, in every effectual communication, there must be a time to listen, and a time to speak. Therefore, let us learn to listen to God as well as to speak to Him, and WORSHIP – the selfless expression of adoration and praise, the gratification of seeing the goodness of God, through REVERENCE – the respect of the Lord is the path to wisdom. (Ecclesiastes 12:13 KJV) Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole of man. (Not the whole duty of man) as it has been translated. Rather, the whole of man . In other words, if a man keep His commandments or abide in the directive path of the Lord, he is a whole man: Body, soul and spirit. The very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calls you, who also will do it. (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24) __________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© > Related topics < Share

  • The True Preacher

Miscellaneous Writings The True Preacher J esus answered and said to her, Everyone drinking of this water will thirst again; but whoever may drink of the water which I will give him will not thirst, never! But the water which I will give to him will become a fountain of water in him, springing up into everlasting life. The woman said to Him, Sir, give me this water, that I may not thirst, nor come here to draw. Jesus said to her, Go, call your husband and come here. And the woman answered and said, I have no husband. Jesus said to her, Well did you say, I have no husband. For you have had five husbands, and now he whom you have is not your husband. You have spoken this truly. The woman said to Him, Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet. (John 4:13-19) The woman said to Him, I know that Messiah is coming, the One called Christ. When that One comes, He will announce to us all things. Jesus said to her, I AM! the One speaking to you. (John 4:25-26) Then the woman left her waterpot and went away into the city and said to the men, Come, see a Man who told me all things, whatever I did. Is this One not the Christ? (John 4:28-29) Those who desire the Lord must come to Him willingly and sincerely confess their wrong doing, if they do not know they are wrong. It is the preacher's responsibility to use the Gospel in preaching holiness with love that the sinner may know they are at fault. Although the glory is not simply for one to confess their wrong doing, but true confession exposes the shame of sin and the evil thereof by shattering its hard exterior. Leaving it wasted and unwanted. Then the Word of God comes in, and mend the damages cause by sin. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© BACK #Salvation Share

  • The error of soul sleeping | Awalkingnewman.com

SOUL SLEEP IS WRONG The reason the likeness of the phrase soul sleep is used in the Scriptures and whenever it is used, it is only dealing with the physical body asleep, after the death of a believer. The sleep has never referred to the soul. The believing Christian’s death is only temporary because the "physical body" is idle, i.e., asleep. However, the soul is alive and well with the Lord. They are absent from this body of life, but they are "present" with the Lord. 2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord. The verse above deals with the Apostle Paul weighing in on his desire to do the will of God here on earth, during his earthly ministry. Nevertheless, he also expressed, being with the Lord wouldn’t be a loss. "Having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ, which is far better"… to be present with the Lord. One who is present is not asleep. Heaven is not full of sleeping saints. Instead, Heaven is filled with praising saints! Revelation 4:10-11 The four and twenty elders fall down before Him that sat on the throne, and worship Him that lives for ever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying, Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created. Even before this account, the Scripture gives another insight into the death of the believer. This account is found in the story of Lazarus the beggar; Luke 16:22-25 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: (another phrase for paradise) the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and sees Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and you are tormented. Though Abraham has been dead to the physical body for hundredths of years, here we have an account of his well-being in paradise after his death, and his talking and responding to questions. This does not sound like a soul sleeping person, does it? So then, why do so-called teachers of the Bible teach soul sleep? Those who teach such and many other false doctrines have fallen from Grace. Due to the proudness of their hearts, they seek to fill it with something "new" in so doing, they open their lives to false teachings. Or, bluntly as the Scriptures records, demons and teaching of demons. 1 Timothy 4:1-2 Now, the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron. This we know, those who caused such teachings, will not repent for the proudness of their hearts. As for those who simply misunderstood for the lack of better understanding, it shall be a small effort to revert from the error and a big gain to turn to the truth. Danger lies in the path of those who ascribed to such teachings and follow the source of such teachings. _________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© The error of soul sleeping BACK Share

  • GLADNESS FOR GROWTH  | Awalkingnewman.com

Miscellaneous Writings GLADNESS FOR GROWTH P. S. Wilmot Share It is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night. (Psalms 92:1-2) Whatever is our concern, it will be our focus. Those who give thanks to the Lord, the Lord is their focus, and in His ways shall they go. Therewith, His tender mercy will lead them through with love, unwavering. Clarke said, thy abundant mercy, in the morning - that has preserved me throughout the night, and brought me to the beginning of a new day: and thy faithfulness in the night, that has so amply fulfilled the promise of preservation during the course of the day. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. (Psalms 51:10-12) This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Many things I may not know, but this one thing I should know, you are the Lord of my life. From where you have taken me, is the reminder and the assurance of where you are taking me. My emotional journey and my physical journey are the path to my spiritual and physical growth. The path wherewith you have walked. Therefore, Lord, teach me to follow you. Let me lose those things that are not helpful for this journey and let me find myself and the things that are rightful, let me find it all in you. In Jesus name I pray Amen. Therefore, this we say again, it is a good thing to give thanks unto the LORD, and to sing praises unto thy name, O most High. ____________________________________ 🎨PSW·3✒© In gratefulness and hope, we sing: Many years I longed for rest perfect peace within my breast and I often sought the lord alone in tears But I would not pay the price would not make that sacrifice So I wondered on and on for many years Now let me lose my self and find it lord in thee - May old self be slain my friends see only me Though it cost me grief and pain I will find my life again Just to lose myself and find it lord in thee Prayers Writings awalkingnewman.com

  • Prayer for travelling mercy | Awalkingnewman.com

Miscellaneous Writings Prayer for travelling mercy P. S. Wilmot Share The LORD shall preserve your going out and your coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore. (Psalms 121:8) Herein is a contract, between the one that is being protected and the protector that protects. The requirement of the contract is faith, faith in the Lord. The simplicity of this contract does not limit the greatness of such promise, and the promise of protection is not confined by the individual traveling from one point to another point. It incorporates life’s journey and experiences in all our affairs, and furthermore, beyond preservation, the believer will prosper in all things. Until then, let faith in the Lord uphold the contract. For those who believe, they are like trees that grow beside a stream, that bear fruit at the right time, and whose leaves do not dry up. They succeed in everything they do. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.
